Cleveland Rocks! Cleveland Rocks!

Good-Bye New York, see you in a couple months. I made it to Ohio yesterday. I checked out Cleveland for the day at the Rock and Roll hall of fame, then out to Toledo to stay with an old pal. The ride through Pa. was nice I-90 the whole way no rain but it was cold. Going 65 miles an hour in 50 degree weather not fun.

Survival Guide to Riding Cross Country

Rule # 3: One set of Heat gear and Cold gear for riding is essential. The Heat Gear for those hot days is great because it absorbs the sweat and keeps you cool. The Cold Gear would have been great yesterday and will keep you warmer and control the body temp. I use Under Armor Cause the Woodbury Commons has it for cheap. Places like Ice Breakers online have some really good quality ones but you pay for it. Thanks Stef for putting me on to that. Don’t freeze your rear get the gear.

The Rock and Roll hall of fame was interesting. I’m not as passionate about music as I am about basketball so it wasn’t as exciting for me, but rock and roll is interesting. I never understood how many different forms of music influenced Rock and Roll. From Blue Grass, to Blues, to Motown they all had their place and added a different taste a new flavor. The place is huge six floors I spent about four hours and didn’t even have the time to read everything. For me the best part was the Woodstock exhibit/movie. My dad was at Woodstock, he worked security and is a total hippie so I know he had a blast there. He tells me stories about those three days all the time and I understood it was a huge concert, but seeing the footage was insane. 300,000 people in one place no huge break outs; nothing was burned down, and no riots. People were there just to have a good time, party, and meet new people. Nothing that monumental will happen again, but I would love to be in that environment. I would certainly suggest checking out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame even if it’s just for the cool Guitar Hero game you can play there.

The city of Cleveland is cool. The Tower City is smaller than NYC but still has a cool feel to it. Not nearly as many people walking around and site seeing which was nice it didn’t distract me from what was around. The architecture is traditional with a slight modern feel and I was able to see the Quicken Loans Arena where Lebron goes to work when he plays at home. For some reason Cleveland had a similar picture to what I think Chicago will be like.

After checking out the city for a bit I went out to Toledo to see Ciara an old neighbor of mine. I haven’t see Ciara in forever, about six years, but after talking with her for a while I see she’s very similar to me. We have a lot of the same interests and how we feel about the future and what not is really similar too. It’s good to find a person like that, gives me the feeling that someone else gets me. Today should be a lot of fun going to Cedar Point where they have 17 different coasters including the highest in the US. Wish me luck.
